MakeKit is a list management and inventory tracking app designed to help you organize lists and track items across various use cases.

When you create an account, we collect:

App Data

To provide our services, we store:

• Lists and items you create
• Inventory items you track
• Categories and storage locations you configure
• Guides you import or create

Device Information

• General usage analytics (opt-in)

Purchase Information

For Pro subscriptions, we receive transaction information from Apple's App Store, including:

• Transaction identifiers
• Subscription status and expiration dates
• We do NOT have access to your payment card details

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the MakeKit service
• Sync your data across your devices
• Enable list sharing features with other users
• Provide smart autocomplete suggestions based on your history
• Process and manage your Pro subscription

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure:

• Data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
• Data is encrypted at rest in our databases
• We use AWS Cognito for secure authentication
• Access to user data is strictly controlled and logged

You can also use MakeKit in local-only mode without creating an account. In this case, your data is stored only on your device.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

• List Sharing: When you choose to share a list, the shared content is accessible to users you invite
• Service Providers: We use AWS for hosting and data storage, bound by their security and privacy commitments
• Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

• Access: View all data associated with your account within the app
• Delete: Delete your account and all associated data from the Account Settings page
• Export: Request a copy of your data by contacting us
• Local Mode: Use the app without creating an account (data stays on device only)

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

• Your personal data is deleted from our servers
• Shared list data may be retained for other participants
• Backups may retain data for up to 30 days before permanent deletion

Children's Privacy

MakeKit is a general-audience app not specifically directed at children under 13. If a parent or guardian creates an account for family use, children may use the app under parental supervision.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new policy on this page
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending an in-app notification for significant changes
